This little four patch I made one evening when I just needed some simple ork to do. It was so much fun to do some no-mind sewing. It will be a baby gift most likely.

This is the six inch centers that I made for
this beautiful quilt that I was making. I just loved making these cute little six inch blocks. I am going to make just a bunch of these blocks. I can see a beautiful border around them. I am doing really well with my knee so my ota says.

I'm not ready to do any quilting yet. I have to be on my knees too much for that.
The quilt up at the top is the quilt complete with the first of my six inch stars.

I've been making these, Star struck blocks. I'm using greens and red scraps with all my neutrals .
I'm planning a trip to Ohio in June. We'll have a big family reunion then. I'm from Delaware, Ohio just outside of Columbus. A small town near by are having a Memorial for my Grandma. I'd really like to go to it.

Colorful quilts
I wonder if anyone is out there. I have nobody that is under my followers. I'll keep going so that I have a record of my quilts this year.
These blocks I made the half square triangles were done in early May. All stitched by hand.
Then I had an idea. I stitch the block together on the machine. Then I went on and shashed them. I found the border in my stash. Now another top ready for machine quilting.
These flying geese blocks I made at the first of the year 2009. I went ahead and put them together. I don't want any unfinished thing when I go to sugery. You never know!

Small But Cute
It is another cold, COLD day in Florida! I'm sick of it. I don't have any pretty snow to look at just lots of brown. I'll be so happy to see spring.
My knee surgury will be on March 16. YEA!!!
This little wall hanging I did in the Laura Wasilowski style. It was simple and took me time to sit and do hand stitching and cutting! Love that. I feel like spring maybe just around the corner. Wow summer may come too! The wall hanging just makes me feel good.

Knee Surgery?
I called yesterday to see about getting an earlier appointment with my knee Dr. I got a call back today. I have an appointment for Monday. My knee is totally well so I'm hoping and praying that my Dr. will schedule my knee surgery for very soon. I'm so ready to start getting back to my regular life. I 'm going to go to exercise classes and do everything to get my tone back. I want to be better than I was actually.
I have a letter ready to go out to a publisher about a quilt book I want to see about publishing.
I'm almost afraid to talk about it yet. Wish me luck!

This is another one of my applique quilts that I did when I couldn't walk. I just finished piecing it this week. I want to get to the quilting on my Bernina. I designed all of the blocks because I wanted something that would be easy to handle back then. If you design it yourself you can't make a mistake. Right! I have always wanted a basket quilt like this one. Everything was done with my fat quarters and scaps of fabric. In fact that is what I call it "Fat Quarter amd Scrap Baskets"

To wash or not
I just about always wash my fabric when I bring it in the house I make a pit stop in the Laundry room and wash it first. Over the last few months I took it on in my sewing room.
This morning I collected it all and washed it all . Before I got confused about what was wash or not. Yesterday Heather took me over to Joanne Fabrics and bought me some more. Now all my fabric is washed and ready for my next qult of the year. I had decided that I'm going to use from my stash and not buy any more for a while. I'm even going to try some pieced backs.
Heather loves Moms quilts and she wants to make sure they keep coming.

German Stollen Bread
I found my new Family Tradition, after Christmas I was thinking about my husbands tree. I thought I about my husband heritage. Alot of German so I thought I would try make a German
treat so I went on the internet and found Stollen bread. So it took me all afternoon. But at the end of the afternoon I had two golden loaves of a really good what I would call breakfast bread and the family just loved it. So I guess they are part Geman.
I've also been working on a little baby quilt. It is pink, yellow and some black background with daisies. Because it is small I can get it quilted and all right now. Just love doing my free motion quilting with my Bernina, Arora 440. I could advertize for them I just love it that much.
I went to my plastic surgeon yerterday he reased me. He is the Dr. that did all the really bad stuff to my knee, Not his falt so he says. But if my knee Dr. wants his help he'll be there for him. Oh! Boy!

This is my string quilt that I got pieced together this week end. I probably won't get it quilted until after my next knee surgery in March. But right now I'm on a roll getting them pieced.
I also got my Backporch quilt pieced together. I started piecing it back in March when I had my 1 st knee surgery. I did all the curves by hand. Just because back then I wanted any kind of hand sewing to keep me busy. So yesterday I pieced all the block together by machine. I love the way it turned out I want to put a couple of borders on it but I'm still thinking about what I want right now.
